For example, some therapist’s may decide to offer sessions pro-bono, based on need, availability and any other means to do so.
-
We keep a standard cancellation and rescheduling policy - we ask to be contacted with at least 24 hours notice of cancellations and rescheduling in order to avoid a no show fee of $50 dollars. Confidentiality is one cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Privacy of all HIPAA related information will not be shared without expressed, written consent by the client or guardian, except when required by law, such as in an emergency. As mandated reporters, we are required to report any suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child or of an adult to the proper authorities.
-
This is unique to your needs and motivation. Many clients who are actively dealing with hardship, trauma, acute distress, or are motivated and ready to learn skills can participate in therapy sessions as much as possible. At times, this can be several times per week, but usually clients start with weekly. As they learn skills, practice them independently, and are making positive changes, they usually move to bi-weekly. As the client continues to improve, they lower their frequency of sessions, or when difficult events in life occur, they may even increase back to weekly.
-
As we are located within a rural community, you could potentially find out that someone you know is connected with our office and we will ensure your information and content of sessions remain private.
-
The therapy treatment should last for long enough that you can establish a positive relationship with the therapist, work towards important goals, and have an improved sense of well-being. Everyone's goals are different and so the number of sessions you attend will reflect your individual needs and values.
-
We offer video calls through our electronic health records service. You will receive the information at your consultation for how to prepare for participation in the video sessions. If there are issues with video, phone call sessions are possible at the therapists' discretion.
